V70 ABS and speedometer

Question: If the fuse of the ABS on a 1998 V70 is pulled, would the speedometer continue to work?

Thanks.

Well, I know that the speedometer gets it's speed signal from the front ABS sensors. If that info is relayed by the ABS computer, then that's why the speedo won't work.

Isn't the feed paralleled off before the ABS computer?

Cheers, Peter.

I'm not sure if the feed is paralleled to both at once, or if it's sent to one control unit which relays it to others. Speed signals are sent to the ABS, speedo (of course), fuel ECU, transmission ECU, climate control, and radio. (And maybe some others I can't think of now.) I'm not sure how it's all interconnected, but I seem to recall when I was mucking about with my radio, the speed signals for the radio and climate control came from the instrument cluster.

I just dug out my wiring diagrams manual. The ABS sensors send their signal to the ABS control unit only, the ABS control unit sends a signal to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster then sends a signal to the cruise module, the engine control module, central lock/alarm module, radio and RTI (road traffic info) module. I guess the transmission module gets whatever speed info it needs via the engine control module. The climate control module doesn't seem to get any speed signal.
