Volvo S40 wiring.

Hi, I've bought an AC adapter to get mains power in the car, Its a cigarette lighter job, but i'd prefer not to have the thing so obvious, or in fact clogging the oly cigarrete lighter! I'm looking at either placing it in the boot, or undera seat (or behind any molding, but ignorance makes that one difficut!) And toadd another cigarette lighter socket/strip the cigarete plug, and attatch directly..

Unfortunately this is a first time mess about forme, and i don't know where to start, and i don't really want to be kicked in the head as i accidentally set the airbags off!

Any Advice/web resources would be greatfully received!

Thanks, Ant Edinburgh

I have previously been looking for a wiring diagram to my 945 1998, also on volvoclub, it seems to me they do not have diagrams for cars newer than the

240 series.

Rather than messing with the cigarette lighter socket which is in an awkward place on the V40, you could do a cable run from the battery... as long as it's appropriately fused (and an on/off switch would likely be useful to stop it draining the battery in case of a problem) it should be ok.
