What is this car???

It has the Volvo grille and crest, but I've never seen one like this in Canada... Anyone has a clue?

That pic is pretty tiny, but it looks like either a 300 or 400 series which were available in Europe, very strange cars.

Ah yes, the memories, I had a 440 Turbo when I was in the UK, lovely car, although had a few electrical issues.

The car you mention is a 480, I did a quick search on google and found a site with pictures

I drive the 480 Turbo, same engine and dash as the 440 Turbo and handled better, I loved those cars.

All I know is that they did not sell them in the US, a shame because I would have one in a heartbeat.

Cheers

Disagree

Most beautiful car from Netherlands is my V40 T4.

North Americans are very funny. You discover a car which has a Volvo grill but question it could be a Volvo because .....you haven't seen one there!!! It may be hard to comprehend but not ALL cars are available in North America! Some of the best actually never get there at all.

Nobody, You have never driven a V480.! Compared with a V40 the roadholding of a V480 is much much better. ! It is not a truck but a beautifull sportcar.

I also had a 480 ES -88 which was my best car ever. Low, sporty, everything was electronic, alot of "extras" was standard in that car. The engine was also alert and smooth. Low fuel consumption too, and a hell of space in the car with the back seats flipped down. Unfortunately the timing belt broke and the engine was damaged so I sold it ... ;..( /Nisse

480 with the pop up lights raised. Available in UK and some parts of Europe from 89 to around 96.

Interesting, but I still think it looks like an 80's Pontiac with a Volvo grill on it, there's nothing that looks Volvo-ish about it, IMO it's hard to improve on the 240 as the classic brick.

I always think of the 480 as a new version of the car that the saint drove in that TV series. Both are beautiful in my eyes.

Richard

you don't make sense. What are you saying?

And Robert - No I haven't driven your 480, but I thought it was about the looks of the car. Anyway, my T4 would blow your 480 to the weeds....................

Richard,

It has nothing to do with Mazda, the car was made from 1986-1995, Ford and Mazda where not in the picture then.

No car was exported to the USA or CANADA !

So please let your eyes checked or look at

Nobody,

Not if there is a corner in the road, you will end in the trees.! No road holding compared with the 480, but lots of power.
