1988 Jetta Steering trouble

hey guys i am experiencing power loss when i make right and only right hand turns. I have even had a couple times where the car completely dies. Does anybody know whats wrong? Thanks

Got gas in the tank? Might be a transfer pump/screen that is loose inside of the fuel tank or a cracked hose at that pump.

Check out the battery to make sure it is correctly mounted and that the negative cable is strapped to the transmission.

Now is it a very sharp turn to the right? Does it kill the engine if the car is stopped and you turn the wheel to the right?

yes it happens on sharp right turns and it will kill the engine right away.. i have found now that it mostly happens when i give it gas around right turns. so what is the problem thanks

Simple........... It is the large boot from the fuel distributor to the intake manifold. It has a crack in it that opens up during that right turn!

That is my vote! ;-) Start up the engine and let it idle, then squeeze and move that boot around to see if the engine speed changes.
