1991 v.w. passat igntion switch

trying to replace the electrical switch that is behind the key cylinder how do you get to remove the old to put in the new switch

got to remove the steering wheel, switches, and then the housing to get the switch out.

Your Bentley service manual should have that information. If not, or if you don't have a Bentley, go to the VWVortex forum for advice. Many experts monitor VWVortex.

Haven't done this job myself but have heard there's a tiny screw that is involved too and it's not easily accessible.

No that screw is real easy to remove and install AFTER you remove the ign. switch lock assembly/housing. ;-) later, dave (One out of many daves)
