2.0T - Will the upcoming Audi A3 mate up to VW A1 motor mounts?

Cut/Paste from VW Vortex announcement:

The A3 Sportback ...

Also significant is the all new 16v 2.0l 4-cylinder turbo with FSI (fuel stratisfied injection or direction injection gasoline engine) with 200hp and 208 lb-ft of torque. This new engine will also be used in the U.S. versions of the Jetta V, Golf V, Golf V GTI and B6 Passat. Mated with six-speed manual, six-speed tiptronic or six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) the new 2.0T should be a decent performer. =======================================================

So, I understand the block might need motor mounts fabricated, but are they there to mount to in some fashion?

OR are they so different/missing as to make it undoable without some sort of sub frame?

So lemme get this straight - you wanna take an engine out of an A1 and put it into a perfectly good A5? (Just kidding.)

No, the A1 has no subframe. It can be done if it has a 02A or similair box and the same engine block (bottom half) with some custom mounts. Not a easy drop in....... SFC

Hello,

Any idea on when the Audi A3 will hit the American/Candadian Marketplace?

Sure, that way I could sell off the A5 Chassis and this would help fund the swap of the DSI into the Roc.

WooHOO! oh, I mean HoodyHoo!

So, there aren't any holes in the side of the block to affix custom motor mounts too?

I am thinking from the 1st custom motor mount brackets would need to be fabricated like the current 20v motors need.
