91 Fox left front noise after hard braking.

yesterday someone pulled out in front of me and i had to do a hard brake. after this occured i noticed that there was noise coming from my driver's side front wheel. its a clunking sort of noise, but definitely not a CV joint problem.

i've always had some noise problem with that wheel. previously, when going over bumps, there would be some clunking noises coming from that area of the vehicle, but now it makes noise whenever the car is in motion, and the noise when going over bumps is much more pronounced.

additionally, if you tap the brake pedal while the car is moving, you can here the same noise, but more pronounced.

i removed the wheel, but did not see any visible problems.

if anyone has any idea of what my problem could be, please let me know.... thanks much andy
