93 Passat GLX security system.

I went out after work to get into my Passat and I noticed that the security light onthe drivers door was solid and not flashing. Not a good sign. I've had that happen in the past when some moisture got into the driver side door handle and freaked the security system out. In the past I've spayed some WD-40 or liquid grease on the wires inside the handle, let it sit for a little bit and the car was 'fine'. This time I went through all that and it's still not working. Since it's been kinda dry and cool in NY for the last few days I don't think it' moisture. When I get in the car and have the battery connected (more on that in a minute) I hear clicking that sound like maybe a relay under the back seat. I've disconnected the battery because it's getting worn down as the system is either tring to enable or disable the security system. I would like to know if there is an 'easy' way to disable the security system and still start the car.

Let's face it... It's a 93 with some rust.. who's gonna steal it.

Thanks, Mike

From memory, after you unplug both connectors in the alarm module... jump the to heavy gauge wires in the 6 pin plug. I think the colors are red/black and red/black or just red wires. You should consult your Bentley manual and do this at your own risk.
