98 Cabrio

Hi,

How do I get to the passenger side running light?

My wheelwells still have splashguards in them so I can't reach that way and I'm not sure I can find them reaching from underneath (maybe I need to put the car in the air, but that sure seems like a lot to change a bulb...)

If you are referring to the side marker light (located in the front bumper, on either side of the car), I have a 95 Cabrio and am able to remove the lens by sliding it toward the rear of the car. Once that is done, I am able to pull the front of the lens (edge closest to the front of the car) outward and pull it forward and out of the bumper. The light bulb can be removed from the lens by turning the bulb holder (counter-clockwise?).

Hopefully this is what you were referring to and the method of removal is the same.

I'll have to try that, your saying just slide the reflector? On my 86 GTI there was a screw that held it in place, but there are no screws visable here...

No room to slide it at all :-(

On my 2003 Jetta you press on the front of the lens which pops in. Then you do some sort of slide forward.
