Data loggers - worth the price?

Saw these data logger chips at Sears - for $99 you get a chip that clips onto the OBD2 connector, records data for up to 75 hours- plus a PC software package for data analysis. My questions:

1) is this worth the price? 2) Once I have the data, how do I know what to do with it? 3) Do I then need another $200 worth of shop manuals & tech data? 4) Will my 2 later model cars ('98 acura Integra, '98 VW Cabrio) work with it?

Any feedback woul be much appreciated.

Loading thread data ...

I see no use for them unless you have a odd running problem and try to find it. And yes once you have all that data one then needs to figure out what it's telling you? I don't have one and don't have a need for one. Finding a problem is 99% knowledge & 1% luck.

They are generally used when trying to pin down an intermittent problem. If you need one you'll know.

If it gives you OBD2 codes and turns of CEL lights, plus does data logging then that would be a good deal. Got a link to it?
