No loctite is used there. Use a sharp chisel and hamer. Eventually they give up....

Usually I place the chisel at the top of the bolt to cut a groove and then angle the chisel on one side in the direction of loosing these bolts off.

>These things never come off without a struggle. I ended up grinding the stubborn heads off with a Dremel and replacing the bolts when the tranny went back in. They are actually a 12-point pattern, not regular allen (hex), sometimes it is hard to tell as they get gunked up.

I do vise grips and an allen wrench or triple square inside. The allen wrench or triple square lets the vice grips only squish the bolt so much. With nothing in the middle the vice grip never gets a chance to get it's 2 ton grip. I have cursed a few but never had to saw or grind one off. But I also live in a non salt climate.
