Your crazy. You can't just ask the guy who is selling "HIS" car to fix the winning noise before selling. He is the seller, it is his car, it's all up to him how he sells it. When you buy a car from a private party you always buy "AS IS". Very rarely do you ever get warrantee since the original warantee is no longer valid usually after the car changes hands.

Every time you buy a used car there is always a risk you take. It could be a deal, or it could be a rip off. Sometimes you just never know.

Well determine what is making that whining sound. Maybe a secondary air pump if so equipped and might be considered a "normal" noise althought it might indicate a problem. I am not sure what the canadian vehicles get nor what they are worth. :-( Any DTCs or Engine Check light on? You could/should pay to have it checked out by a specialist, even the dealer

just a thought! later, dave (One out of many daves)
