70's!!!

Well, I've had several folks asking about 'glass hoods w/scoops on the CabrioletandCabrio board (at yahoo), so I guess everyone doesn't agree with you. Also, if you'll look around there are 'glass hoods w/scoops for just about every car made - including the *new* ones; so I guess you're

*way* off base. In my case, I plan to put an LT1 in my cabrio mid-engine, & I want all the scoops/vents I can get to evacuate the air from under the hood after it goes through the radiator - I don't want it building up pressure at speed. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

Aren't their some saftey issues of putting a hood on? for say when you hit a pedestrian? or is this on new cars only?

I heard that it's illegal to add a hood to a vehicle if it's over 2" high. It is also not supposed to be above the windshield wiper height when the wiper is not in use. Hoods are poser add ons unless you have a new 2004 Mach-I with the shaker hood which comes stock from the factory and actually does something.

I think you're both completely wrong. There are no safety issues with a fiberglass hood. You can get them for almost anything. Carbon fiber is basicly the same thing, & you see how popular that is. As for height: most cars have hidden wipers on them, that go below the hood. How would you measure that? No, I've never seen *any* thing that restricts height. Your state laws may be wierd... These hoods are going to be *fully* functional for the Cabrios. Guess you didn't read the page. I've never had a hood scoop on any of my cars that wasn't functional. The 2004 Mach-1 is not the *only* car in the world with a functional hood scoop! Hell the Trans-Am & the Hemi Cudas even had
