Odd Speaker Problem...no woofer!!!

hey folks....

got a weird problem....

i have 6.5 " JBL 2 way speakers installed in my fox (rear)...front speakers are factory..., matched with a midpriced kenwood cd/receiver.....i've had these speakers for about 3 years....a few days ago the left hand woofer stopped working...tweeter is OK. there is nothing visibly wrong...it doesn't appear that there is any way to dissasemble the speaker without breaking it...anyone have any idea what the problem might be??...or should i just suck it up and get a new set of speakers........problem is not related to the head unit...i switched speakers and the problem is definitely within the speaker itself...

thanks andy

DC-Resistance (that's what you measured) higher than nominal impedance (that's what the label reads) -> Defektive Speaker. If you can't remember blowing it by turning up the volume, it might be one of the flexible wires to the voive-coil has come loose - repair might be possible but takes the right tools and the right material - possible not worth it.
