parts4vws spam?

I just got an e-mail from snipped-for-privacy@uol.com.br about VW Golf IV latest upgrade parts. Now normally I'd ignore it. But I bought my own domain specifically for this purpose. It semes it was sent to parts4vws@... Now when ever I register for anything I always put the host followed by my domain. Did anyone else get this e-mail. I don't remember signing up for any "new parts." They get 'hacked' or maybe their user list somehow got out? Dissapointing to say the least.

I've noticed i've not had a spam mailing on my hotmail account for past week now i usually have about 200 waiting for me after a week, not sure if word has got around that it is illegal to send spam out of a UK address. Didn't realise it would stop american/world wide spam getting to my mail account. I'm UK addressed.

I seriously doubt Mike and Kristen are sending spam or selling their list. You should contact them about the problem and provide the email with complete headers. I'm sure they'd love to know about it and would find out what has happend.

Did you set up a profile in the registry/car show? If you did, and your email address is showing there, then someone is harvesting email addresses.

Now companies like Rapid Parts and Electrodyne are a different story. They are spammers. I find it funny I've never done business with either and get emails from them. Spam blockers sure are nice...

Interesting. I do business with both, and have never received spam from either. In fact, I rarely get e-mails about sales, closeouts, etc, from either unless it looks like something I might be interested in for my particular car.
