What ever you do, do not let the car sit like that long if you take it out of service. A coolant leak into the cylinders can rust up the cylinder wall and require an engine rebuild. I put a car aside once that needed a gasket to work on later and a relatively short time later I took the head off to find all the cylinders severely and unrepairably rusted as once the oil drops from the cylinder walls from a bit of time it is *bare iron* that can rust fast. It was short time the thickness of the rust on the cylinder walls was unbelievable. Engine was discarded.

Make sure you did not overfill the oil!!

If its the headgasket your oil should appear to be milky as antifreeze and oil don't mix very well. Either drain some of it off and check the color. Also check your antifreeze for contamination. If its a blown head - you are talking major $$$ if its warped.

yeah i checked that before...my oil was high, but idk why because it has an oil leak, and it was really low before...but i drained the access oil out and the car ran fine after that but it was smoking like a bitch still...brought it to a shop already cuz im fed up with it... thanks a lot though

Sometimes fuel injected (or non-FI) engines can have a problem with too much gas getting inside of the cylinders and getting into the oil. Oil thins out and then you will see smoke out of the exhaust as this gas-oil mixture gets burnt. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator ruptures and fuel gets sucked into the intake via the vacuum hose. Smell the oil and report back.

just a thought! later, dave (One out of many daves)

Sometimes my engine compartment smokes... because I carelessly spill oil on the exhaust manifold. :-P
