smoking 81 cabriolet

ok bought the 81 cabriolet that i thought the engine was blown.It wasnt got a great deal any ways car is smoking out of tail pipe and and engine i noticed it was coming out fo valve cover but smoke was coming out of exaust manifold.Also the insrument panel not working RPM,MPH,GAS ETC...what could that be?

manifold leak?

start with looking for blown fuses. if that isn't it, might need to pull the cluster out and check connections, voltage regulator, etc. hopefully it's a fuse though (easier).
