I have a '99 k1500 Suburban and the transfer case position indicator light often goes out. It doesn't matter what position it is in, 2hi, 4auto, 4 hi, or 4lo. Is this a common problem? Any ideas what is going on? Occasionally it will light up, and other times all lights are out.

It can be cracked soldering connecting wires to the switch itself, or other issues indicated by stored codes. If you have a code reader you can simply pull them. If you don't, you can access the codes by doing the following procedure...
