The 3.1L V6 is the pre-95 multi-port fuel injection engine and the 3100 is the 95+ sequential fuel injection. The blocks are different as well. Steve

This isn't really news. GM has made engines outside of the US before. The owner's manual for my '84 GMC Sierra shows at least some of the straight-six engines as being produced in Mexico. William
