Like a bad penny, I always return ;-)
I have scanned through the MBZ manuals and I see no trace of this acoustic insulating pad. It stretches around the inside of the dash panel and has openings cut for all the items that must pass through it. This is the pad with the smelly rubber backing.
There is no problem taking care of the two panels over the foot area in the car and I have a carpet remnant that I might be able to use by taking the existing dash panel pad and using it for a template. I wish I could peel off the rubberlayer but that's not likely to work.
Has anyone ever heard of this item for sale? I searched the main MBZ parts suppliers with variants on: steering, counter-sunk screw, etc, acoustic, pads, etc and nothing comes up.
