Hi Guys, I need to use tachometer readings..( voltage ..) in my project work.. I can't change the existing setup of vehcicle internally..so I want to build some external device.. Is there any way out that I can get the output voltage reading directly.. Is there nee help or manual avalable..

Are you saying you want a voltage output proportional to the engine RPM? If so, use a National Semiconductor LM2907 connected to the negative terminal of the ignition coil. National has a applica tion note on how to do this on their page.
