I have a 69 Cadillac DeVille rear end that I've taken apart and I need to dis-assemble the differential unit (limited slip). This particular version has the entire differential unit bolted to the front side of the rear end and there is no removable "cover" on the back of the rear end.
There are two clamps which hold what appear to be short hollow shafts that support the entire ring gear and differential assembly. There is a single long bolt which provides the clamping force for the clamps. I have loosened those, but how do I pull the short hollow shafts from the clamps? I've pried the ears of the clamps apart, but can't get the hollow shafts to budge.
Thanks,
Mark
