What this means
⚠ Book a service. The codes you entered describe faults that get worse, or more expensive, if left.
What to doBook a workshop inspection. Normal driving is usual with these faults, but they should not be left indefinitely.

  1. P0172 — Fuel and air metering (service soon). Bank 1 is running rich: the engine computer is removing fuel and has run out of adjustment. Too much fuel is being delivered, or the engine is being told it needs more air than it does.

Checks to do first, in order

  1. Check the air filter for heavy contamination or restriction.
  2. Inspect the mass air flow sensor and the coolant temperature sensor readings for plausibility.
  3. Have fuel pressure and the fuel injectors checked for leakage.
