  1. P0340 — Ignition (service now). The camshaft position sensor circuit on bank 1 is faulty. The engine may start slowly, run poorly, or not start at all.

Checks to do first, in order

  1. Inspect the sensor connector and wiring.
  2. Check for oil contamination at the sensor, which is common when a seal has failed.
  3. Verify timing chain or belt condition if a correlation code is also present.
