  1. P2271 — Emissions control (service soon). The oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter on bank 1 is stuck reporting a rich mixture instead of cycling. This sensor monitors the converter rather than trimming fuel.

Checks to do first, in order

  1. Inspect the sensor's wiring and connector for corrosion or heat damage.
  2. Have the sensor's live reading watched: a healthy one moves, a stuck one holds a steady value.
  3. Check for an exhaust leak near the sensor.
  4. Look for a genuine cause of a rich mixture — leaking injectors or a stuck purge valve — if the sensor checks out.
