740 brake servo function delay at low temps

Mar 06, 2004 1 Replies

When temperature is below freezing point, the servo power of the brakes won´t be active before driving a few minutes. Volvo 740 Turbodiesel 1989. Happens never during summer. Haven´t searched yet for a hose containing condensed water.

Thank You for any input.

This can be caused by the one-way valves in the vacuum pump or iced condensation inside the pump and also check the lines from pump to brake servo.

Cheers, Peter.
