The ()**&%% window switches are not working. I've taken it apart and cleaned the contacts, etc over and over. (a real hokey Micky Mouse set up!)
One time X window will work. Moving the little switch pieces from X to Y will still have X work and not Y. I am not getting juice to the motor in the door (as far as I could tell by stripping the wires a little and testing while moving buttons). continuity testing is inconclusive. right now the two rears work, the fronts do not. Luckily they are stuck "up"
The cost of a new switch is bloody expensive. Bad enough at discount on- line, worse at the local dealer. And I'm not $200-$300 certain that it will solve the problem because...
Bentley mentioned an auxiliary fuse panel beneath the rear seat with fuses for the windows.
I cannot figure out how to pull the seat cusion/squab out or pull the back of the cusion/squab up so it roates on the hinge rod on the bottom at the front of the seat to give me access to whatever is under the seat. I'm thinking there is some catch or something in there and I don't want to bust a gut trying to pull something that doesn't want to be pulled.
Clearly the back seat is designed to move out of the way, opening the trunk area into the interior of the car. So I don't anticipate moving the seat to be a major untertaking once the secret is known.
(no owners manual, though I'm bidding on a 1992 version on ebay as I type this)
Oh...I do see on the right side under the rear seat there's a panel in the "floor" that opens to reveal a box of some kind...looks electronic. Anyone have a clue about what this is?
