The car is stuck in limp mode, won't shift, and here in the states no one can fix it. The shop said if I have a 3 digit code for the transmission in OBD 1, it should be of help. Need help ASAP.

You could either try the dealer or find someone with a vag-com or other type of scanner that works on your vehicle. There are a couple of vag-com owner lists and the members can scan your vehicle at a nominal fee or free. just a suggestion! later, dave Reminder........
