aftermarket rim for 2003 325ci coupe

just bought a '03 2003 325ci coupe....it has the sport package, with17" wheels and low profile tires (225 45ZR17). I live in theWashington DC area and we usually get a nice dose of freezing rainand perhaps a snowfall or two during the winter. I'm thinking aboutkeeping my stock OEM rims (5 spoke) and putting all season tires onthem for the winter, so that leads me to hunt down another pair ofwheels(currently cruising ebay for another pair). If I can't score agood pair of OEM wheels from ebay,what aftermarket brand would you suggest to mount my low profileperformance tires on? I did the whole thing but I'mcurious as to what brand name is good and which ones to avoid. Samething with tires? any recommendations? Pirelli and Conti seem to befavorites from the archived posts...what about Kuhmo? I'm looking forlong lasting tire life as opposed to top of the line track readytires, in a low profile tirethanks.

The strongest wheels are forged, and forged wheels are pricey - typically around two grand for a set. If you find a wheel/tire package for a thousand bucks, you're getting cheap wheels that will dent easily *and* cheap tires. epbrown

thanks!!! what methods does BMW use for their OEM wheels? I found this nice thread, but it's from 1997...

there was one other thread that talked about BMW OEM wheels being prodced by MAS (Italy)..but no mention of construction methods (forged, die cast, etc, etc)....just a general seach on google didnt really turn up anything either...

Mas Italy makes cast wheels, but BMW uses other wheel manufacturers as well. BBS for example.
