'91 EB stalling a lot

My '91 Eddie Bauer has had a long history of frequent stalling (especially after it's been running for a few moments) at stop signs / lights and even when turning corners accompanied by low mileage (10-12 mpg instead of the usual 16-18 in mixed driving). The shop has replaced the computer, O2 sensor, and a coolant sensor, which appeared to help for a while but now the problem is back. I had the engine rebuilt last month (at 200K, lots of upper-engine noise, leaky head gasket, low oil pressure, and it turned out that both heads were cracked as well) at a different shop (my usual repair shop doesn't do rebuilds and I used the rebuilder they and others recommended) and the problem hasn't gone away so it's bound to be a sensor somewhere. I'm about to take it in to the rebuilder for the 500-mile oil change / final checkup and would like to give him a crack at the stalling problem as well. Any suggestions as to what we should look for?

Thanks,

Would that also account for the poor mileage?

Yes - mine dropped by 50%. Engine was running rich. Computer code was that oxy sensor was reading rich. Engine had no power and idle was very erratic.

Thanks, that fits in with what the first shop thought (running rich). They had replaced the O2 sensor a few years back but didn't replace it again as the temp sensor seemed to fix it up.
