94 auto transmission dumped fluid....

94 XLT 4WD Auto trans 96k miles: Transmission fluid poured out of the front of the trans after I put the truck in a strain backing a pop up trail up a steep driveway. Transmission still functions, but no fluid registering on the dip stick. Trans fluid was still red. Blown seal?? Just overheated?? ???

Ideas???
