If you saw the spectacle of GM's CEO Fritz Henderson on meet the press (04-05) were you as put-off as I was (am ?) When asked if people should buy American he (Fritz) said NO, not yes and buy GM we have great vehicles now and more in the pipeline (or something like that) instead what I saw was David Gregory pitching softball for Fritz's batting practice, with nary a single follow-up question. Slow pitch, dodge, "We need to move forward." Slow pitch, dodge, "We are looking forward."
Fritz Henderson had the nerve to sit there and tell us about how the old CEO (who helped run the corporation into bankruptcy) was (still is) a great friend of his, and how GM needs to look forward, as if that were all that's required.
Oh and what's your salary? Mr. Gregory wanted to know.
"One point three million dollars." (Slightly embarrassed.)
So is Fritz just a company man preparing the company for chapter 11 (is the writing on the wall) or does he want bigger things ?
