Avoid Lexus 07 models - killer trannies

Oh boy, mcbrue, I'm on your side, but your hyperbole is not helping. The lag is real, but your exaggerations undermine our collective credibility. Not the way, buddy.

As a ES330 owner, I also think that there is some exaggeration here,,, but my main beef is that I bought a high end vehicle expecting it to be trouble free and now find that there is a lag in the transmission that I find extremely annoying (but I doubt it is life threatening). All of the "lesser" cars I have owned in my life have never had a problem like this. I will never buy another Lexus because of that -- Acura / Infiniti / BMW -- here I come.

The lag won't be life threatening until you encounter the once in a blue moon situation when you need to floor the accelerator to avoid an accident and the car doesn't respond. Depending on that situation, your odds of getting hit or hitting something rise in a big way. These situations don't come up often, but it's happened to me at least 3x in my life. I just hope the next time it happens is after I trade in this piece of crap car designed for middle-aged women. The car is also no fun to drive. On any kind of curve at all, the car feels like it's going to tip over.

It hasn't killed me yet, but it sure has pissed people off behind me after I changed lanes and couldn't take off...
