Oxygen sensor problem

I tried to replace the oxygen sensor from the front exhaust manifold of my



2000 RX300 with 120k miles. It was very difficult removing the sensor from the manifold and the threads stripped. Any advice for installing the new sensor? Is there an inexpensive fix or do I have to replace the manifold? Thanks.

You have a few options, but I'm most confused as to why the unit was stripped? Usually, a stripped thread is damaged at the last use. The damage is discovered with the removal. Are you saying this thread was dam- aged at the factory, or was the sensor replaced since?

You can use a repair helicoil.
