Driving along, noticed the battery needle dropping ? smelled electronics burning, smoke coming from the hood. stopped at a 7-11 Well the connector on the alternator started burning, flames!, had to get a fire extinguisher, cryspied it out. The stock alternator is know for starting fires. Got a newer upgrade a ford G3, power wires go to a post now, not a connector. more amps at low revs for air-conditioning and idling Also the other end of the wire was burned back over by the ignition coil, and they use a fusible wire over there to hook up with.
Still running good, no smoke from the hood.
