dwight's more qualified to answer this, but I'd guess that advertising is such now that surprises don't even matter any more. That said, I'll bet that 75% of the buying public is generally unaware of the car. When ads start appearing on TV and in print, then the game will be on.

The fuel cost and budget for a household is interesting. Put into perspective, people aren't getting hit all that hard (yet). For a helluva lot of people, it's akin to eating out two or three more times per month. Of course people who drive 250 miles per week or more are feeling it more than the average commuter, but until gas goes up to around $5/gal, life goes on.

Whoa, dude. In no way am I saying it's going to get you a deal on a Challenger or GT500. I'm only saying do exactly what you are doing -- voice your opinion. The dealer have to hear we enthusiasts are not happy with the pricing or we have absolutely NO hope that it'll ever change. And the Detroit 3 are finally learning they have to listen to their customers or they won't have a future.

For the prices these things are going for, little details should be criticized IMO. OTOH, if a dealer was going to sell me a Challenger or Camaro with over 400hp for $29,000, I'd have absolutely no problem with either car's front end.
