96 200SX S-ER EGR, EGRC Solenoid, BPT problem

My wife has a '96 200SX S-ER with the 2.0L engine, manual, A/C... Her check engine light came on and problem code specified the EGR system, but not which specific part. I started with replacing the cheapest part first, the BPT Valve, and reset the check engine light. This worked for a few weeks and then the lighht came back on. I then decided to replace the next most expensive part, the EGRC solenoid. I have now checked 6 different EGRC Solenoids and none of them fit this car. What do I need to do to get the correct EGRC solenoid for this car? And, does anyone know of a way to test an EGRC to see if it is the problem? Seems simple enough, test continuity across the contacts, pull a vacuum on the correct port and verify change in continuity... I have also bought the EGR Valve and will replace that. I am at a loss over the EGRC Solenoid- Nissan Dealer has no clue as to what the correct part should be.

Thanks for your help.

Have you checked for carbon buildup in all of the lines from the exhaust manifold and around the egr valve itself? On my 94 Altima the hose running to the EGR valve was plugged up with carbon and the passages in the intake manifold as well as the valve itself were very dirty.
