New 5-stroke design combines best of gas and diesel engines; well-suited to hybrids

A new type of internal combustion engine (ICE) that is compact, powerful and extremely efficient has been developed by Ilmor Engineering, best known for its world-class racing engines created for General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, and Honda.

Ilmor's newly developed 5-stroke engine produces 130 HP from just 700 cc (0.7 liters), with exceptional fuel economy and low emissions. Further it can be manufactured utilizing existing conventional technology.
