[Saab_c9000] Report on SCCA NSW event today - Breakfast BBQ at Bobbin Head

Hi everyone,

Thanks to Anthony and Helen for organising today's BBQ breakfast at Bobbin Head on behalf of the Saab Car Club of Australia NSW Branch. It was good to meet some new faces too - Sam, Lloyd, Matt and Alison. I think our two youngest children - Skye and Quinn - had a good time as well!

Anthony's asked me to look at organising an event down my way for sometime over the next couple of months. Tiffany and myself suggested a lunch BBQ gathering at Woronora Dam which is just a short distance from where we live in Waterfall. The facilities are good but quite popular.

I'll try to find out exactly what the story with the dam is since it's not a national park and the dam site is also where one of Sydney's main water treatment plants is located and that particular facility is has a significantly high level of security! However the BBQ and picnicing facilities are good - it's just a bit of a different skew to what you get in an established picnic ground in a national park. 8-)

Other options are a drive through the Royal National Park to have a BBQ gathering at a place like Wattamolla, but there are also a number of picnic areas throughout the RNP that are not high on facilities (basically parking and open-space).

How many other members live in the south of Sydney? I know of a couple but there are bound to be more that perhaps don't have a computer at home or don't have an email account anywhere.

Craig.
