Hey all-
I just bought a nice amp to compliment the 12" pioneer I've had laying around. I want to mount the amp but don't know where. I was thinking of putting it in the trunk but don't want other odds and ends to crash into it or have plastic bags suffocate it when I go to the super market. My thoughts were create a makeshift mounting base out of some covered plywood and mounting it from the top of the trunk, suspended under the 3rd brake-light assembly. It looks like the roomiest, most out of the way place. Plus, it provides good ventilation.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Would self-tapping sheet-metal screws be ok if kept short enough? Is there a better place? I'd like to use the spare wheel area, but think it'll retain way too much heat.
Also, how should I secure the speaker box so it doesn't slide around? Velcro?
Thanks. Mike
