Snow/Slush displaced the heat shield around exhaust

Recent runs in the snow and slush ended up producing strange noises when decompressing and gearing down. Inspection showed the heat shield displaced and slush jammed between the shield and the undercarriage. You would think Subaru would have designed it so that slush spray wouldn't get built up in that area. After all this is supposed to be an all-weather vehicle.
