Strange Navigator Issue

This is in reference to a 2017 Outback 3.6R with Navigation.

I want to enter a destination address of:

2930 Campton Hills Dr. St Charles, IL 60175

The USPS website confirms that this is a valid address. But when I try to enter it, after entering the city and street names, the navigator will only accept an address number such as 37W780. It will not accept 2 as the first digit.

This location is in DuPage County, and this unusual address format is used in some parts of the county, but I called the post office and they told me 2930 is the only valid address for that location.

I also have a 2013 Acura TL with Navigation, and it has the same problem.

Any ideas on why this error is occurring and how it might be fixed? Thanks!

John

When I try that address at

formatting link
it found 2930 Campton Hills Rd (not Dr). Perhaps that is the issue? It appears that St Charles, IL 60175 has both Campton Hills Dr and Campton Hills Rd. Seems designed for confusion. The road appears to change from Dr to Rd as you travel from West to East.

It would appear that your nav is far different. Mine uses the TomTom core and data. In my 2018 3.6 Touring the address is entered just as you wrote it. When I enter the 2930 etc... address it pops up as a choice and allows me to navigate to it (~9 hours from my location) so it clearly understands. Does your nav require entry in a different format than "as given". Oh, BTW, it also pops up an address of 42W999 Campton etc... as an alternative. Oddly the two addresses matched show different ZIP codes of 60175 and 60119.

OH, I did another lookup online and found "The official US Postal Service name for 60119 is ELBURN, Illinois." Does this mean anything to you?

I totally missed that distinction when I did the test on my nav although I did note that the Drive and Road are totally different ZIP codes.
