Would appreciate anyone's opinion on that Radio Shack "talking" tire pressure gage.
Worth getting? Work well? Can you actually hear it ?
Any Radio Shack model better, regarding accuracy, ease of use, etc. ?
Better brand/model from elsewhere ?

It works well enough, yes, you can hear it, and see the digital display, but it doesn't work when it's really cold. The Radio Shack owner's manual claims it works from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. I need my gauge to work below 14F, so I also have a G.H. Meiser mechanical Accu-Gage unit. If you live in a moderate climate where the temperature doesn't get below
14F (-10C) then I'd say go ahead.
I would guess it would depend on why someone thought they would want one. For example, I would hate to think that someone unable to see the markings on a regular guage properly would be attempting to drive. On the other hand, a sociopathic youth might think it hilarious to hear the guage count down as they let the air out of their buddy's tires.

Buy a normal digital guage and hire a neighborhood kid to read the numbers?
I either keep my tire gauges in my unheated garage or in the car. Both locations get below 14F on a regular basis during the winter here in Minnesota.

Last I heard, only one company makes the pressure transducers that all brands are based on. Accu-Gage (Meisner) makes the standard gauges, relabeled for Sears, Camel/Gates, and a bunch of others.
All are accurate to .5 pounds. I need one accurate to .1 pounds, but they don't seem to exist yet.
I have several of the Accu-Gage units, bought from Sears for $9 on sale. The only problem I have is in seeing the readout in dim light (i'm over 40. The solution to this is the lighted LED readouts, or perhaps this talking gauge. Either one would solve my problem.
So, accuracy isn't an issue with any of them, IMHO. Additional features have value to some. Rex in Fort Worth
