Well my 2001 318 shows that the dizzy points at number 6 and the
> timing marks are together but when i get it to the number 1 the dots r up

Did you take the distributor out to do your work? If so... Pull the distributor out an inch or two. Turn the distributor shaft 180 degrees. Put the distributor back in.
