Hi everyone I find that lately my gas pedal "sticks" a little bit when beginning to press slightly on it to move from idle. My diagnosis after some investigation is that the throttle body is sticking, not much but enough so I feel it. It is a bit annoying but otherwise the car functions nicely. I looked at all the linkage and found no problem. This "sticking" is rather felt while the engine is on and idling. The pedal works freely when the engine is off. My questions concern a) is my diagnosis correct, b) is the cleaning of the throttle body difficult. The car is a Camry 2000 CE 4 cylinders. Anyone with previous experience on the subject? Your comments would be really appreciated. Jean-Guy

Your diagnosis is probably correct, I had the same situation with my
90 and 97 Camrys, and I think it's pretty common in many fuel injected cars. I don't know how easy it is to correct in the 2000 model, but the idea is to gain access to the throttle body opennig by removing the air intake hose and cleaning the insides with a solvent safe for fuel injectors (don't use carburator cleaner - you will "poison" the oxygen sensor). Well. Thanks for such good advice, JerryR. Problem solved. I went to NAPA Auto Parts and got a can of "Air Intake Kleen" from Kleen-Flo and sprayed according to instructions on the can. All back to normal now. Thanks again Jean-Guy
