A four year old battery might be something to change for a new one.

Early 4Runners had a problem with the starter contacts within the starter motors, especially with high mileage engines. 93K miles isn't high mileage for a Nippondenso starter, however, and IDK about the later versions.

I have a 91 4Runner with 180K miles that's just starting to act up, must think about climbing under there and pulling a starter one of these days.

I'd start with the battery first.
