thermal coating on heads ???

just reading a popular hotrodding mag article that shows them using a newer thermal coating inside the combustion chamber, on the valves, and i think on the top of the piston. the whole idea is to reduce the heat transfer from the combustion chamber into the heads, valves, etc., and thus gain a little more horse power. the article further explained that the process has been perfected after years of trials and errors by hotrodders. blah, blah, blah.

anybody know anything about this process ?? sounds like a good idea for any aircooled engine, but i don't have enough info to even attempt to try it.

It's been around a few years, you can even coat the inside of the exhaust port. I know Jake Raby are trying out different coatings on T4 engines..
