Improving the handling of a 940?

Any suggestions to improve the handling on an incremental basis on a Volvo 940 wagon? What are items which will yield the most improvement for the dollar, e.g. tires, shocks anti-sway bar? Any sites which specialize in this sort of activity? Thanks in advance.

You've got lots of options, and you've listed some. Tires, shocks, springs, anti-sway bars, new bushings, etc. are all a good idea.

Making sure all of your suspension components are at least in good shape is a good first step.

There are lots of places to check out for upgrades. IPD, Unitek, and OJ Rallye come to mind.

First thing to do is make sure your suspension is in good shape, replace the bushings and inspect everything else. Poly bushings are suggested if you're going for a sporty ride. Next in your case would probably be a set of stiffer swaybars, they make a huge difference, if you want lowering springs now is the time to go to those too. Decent tires are a must to begin with, but everything works together to give you a better ride.

Turbobricks is probably your best bet, plenty of Brick modders in the forums there:
