Cam follower diameter

Hi all, Can anyone enlighten me as to the diameter of vw cam followers (aka valve buckets)? Old 2V engines used a 35mm dia. I'm looking for a hydraulic in the 27-28 mm range. It seems as if the new 4V engines would have to use a smaller diameter just for space considerations. This is for a project I'm working on, a new cylinder head design. Any information about sizes and the models that they come in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kevin

I don't know this for sure, but I think all the cam followers are all the same. You're definitely right that the 8V cam followers are 35 mm, but as far as I can tell the 16Vs use the same part. Remember the 8V exhaust valves are 33mm, so you can have cam followers that are larger or smaller than the valves. The 16V engines use 32 mm intake and 28 mm exhaust valves.
