WOLFSBURG, Germany -- Volkswagen AG, Europe's biggest auto maker, is offering service on about 33,000 Passat model cars that might have a loose screw.
Models built in August to November 2003 are affected. There might be a loose screw at the rear of the cars, a spokesman said, adding that the service isn't a "recall," which is used only in cases in which the automobile could present a danger.
"That's not the case at all here," the spokesman said. The service is being offered world-wide, but mostly affects Passats in Germany, he said.
